  8. @t5@f00When  CRUSADERS  released  their  very
  9. first issue of Official Eurocharts Top
  10. Ten,they probably didn't guess that it
  11. would  become  so  popular  among  the
  12. Amiga  scene.That happened in November
  13. 1989    and    since   this   time,the
  14. Eurocharts   have  kept  their  spirit
  15. whereas   the   lay   out  and  design
  16. constantly   developed.    The   chart
  17. concept  was  devised,as the scene was
  18. growing  up,and  as  many  demos  were
  19. showing  up.CRUSADERS  made  the first
  20. one  and  whatever  people think about
  21. it,it  is  probably the most important
  22. serial  production  released on amiga,

  28. because  of its prestige!  They always
  29. reflected  quite  nearly  the state of
  30. mind  of  the scene,that's to say that
  31. during 1990 the crack groups dominated
  32. them,and  that  one  year  later  demo
  33. groups outclassed them.Actually it was
  34. also    due    to    the    friendship
  35. movement,which  one  started  to cover
  36. the  whole  scene  at the end of 1990.
  37. Coming  back  to this period,you could
  38. see  in  the  charts the best,but also
  39. the  worst rankings showing that there
  40. was  hard  competitions between groups
  41. and   sometimes   wars.BBS  were  also
  42. something  new in the scene,as many of
  43. them  were  born during this time.They
  44. of  course  had  their  place  in  the
  45. @#

  47. @t5@f00Eurocharts!     At   the   middle   of
  48. 1990,CRUSADERS probably understood how
  49. popular  their  charts  became.So they
  50. made  it more seriously improving code
  51. and   design.    It   was   maybe  the
  52. beginning   of   a  very  professional
  53. work,and  it  also means the beginning
  54. of  a full-time production.  The worst
  55. charts    dealing   with   the   Amiga
  56. disappeared,and the product started to
  57. be  a  kind  of mag treating about the
  58. scene  during the last two months.  At
  59. the  end  of  1990,many  demos saw the
  60. daylight   and   the  Eurocharts  were
  61. coming  even  closer  to the scene:the
  62. EURONEWS  were  born.   CRUSADERS also
  63. got  the  good idea to include a scene
  64. slide  show  with  famous  dudes  like
  65. themselves and with anybody who wanted
  66. to  see his face in the EUROCHARTS.The
  67. Gallery   probably   made   them  more
  68. @^
  69. @t5@f00famous!   Something important happened
  70. too  in  the  eighth issue,seeing that
  71. they splitted the demo charts,and made
  72. two  different  gradings with one part
  73. demos    and   trackloaded   demos.The
  74. trackmo  was  more fashionable and was
  75. coming  from  everywhere.By the way,it
  76. never  means  quality,just  amount  of
  77. work!   The  design was a bit enhanced
  78. during 1991.As the EUROCHARTS were now
  79. a major production,CRUSADERS wanted to
  80. show  their  main  talents.It  was  of
  81. course,  pleasant  to  listen  to  new
  82. modules from Dr Awesome and Fleshbrain
  83. and  to  discover new gfx from Bustman
  84. and  Intec,while  reading  them.  Till
  85. the  last 14th issue,there were no big
  86. changes  except  that  Dr Awesome left
  87. CRUSADERS  and stopped composing Amiga
  88. music.It  is  maybe  a  reason why the
  89. group  started to be fed up with their
  90. @#

  92. @t5@f00production.   The EUROCHARTS were also
  93. famous  because  of  the problems that
  94. they  created.   Too  many people were
  95. jealous     when    discovering    the
  96. results,and  they  obviously took them
  97. too    seriously.Yet,CRUSADERS   never
  98. forget to list the voters and moreover
  99. to    underline    the    number    of
  100. them.Anybody can understand that a 400
  101. voters  average  does not reflect that
  102. much the opinion of the scene.  But as
  103. everywhere,jerks   aren't   missing.So
  104. they accused the group of cheating.  I
  105. wonder why CRUSADERS will get interest
  106. in  faking  the charts as they haven't
  107. been    rated    since    the    third
  108. issue!Anyway,there  was  probably some
  109. cheating,but the authors couldn't help
  110. it.I  also think that it wouldn't have
  111. changed  a  lot  at  the  top  of  the
  112. charts,cause the first ones were there

  115. production  could  take  most of their
  116. spare-time,and   that  it  became  too
  117. boring  to  know  the  results  before
  118. counting   the   charts,as   El   Cubo
  119. said.Many  people  tried  to take them
  120. over  or just try to copy them,but the
  121. official    EUROCHARTS    were   still
  122. there.Maybe   they   took   them   too
  123. seriously,   and   they   should  have
  124. released       less      issues      a
  125. year.Well,ending  this serie will also
  126. stop  the  charts  monopole.I've heard
  127. that  many  groups  are working on new
  128. ones,so    a   race   for   fame   has
  129. started,and  when this article will be
  130. published,we  might  have been invaded
  131. by  clones.The  most interesting topic
  132. is  to  discover  who's  going to take
  133. them  over  with  a  special agreement
  134. from  CRUSADERS.   So we'll never have
  135. @#

  142. of our scene was burried, everybody is
  143. in  a  bad  mood and feels like crying
